I try to be proud of my self for all that I have accomplished, but it is VERY hard. I guess its because I keep pushing my self to do and accomplish more.
I wanted to work at a high end hotel. After one year at SAIT, I got a job working at The Palliser Hotel (at the time this was the highest end hotel in Calgary).
I wanted to travel before settling down. So I got a job on two cruise lines and worked while I travelled the Caribbean.
I wanted to meet the love of my life and have it read like a romance novel (hey a girl can dream can't she?). Well, I married my best friend in the entire world, after I convinced him that I was the best thing that ever happened to him.
I wanted to be the best at my job in advertising. I was awarded National Sales Rep of the Year and got to have a very belated honeymoon with my hubby.
I wanted to work for my self one day. So, while working my regular day job, I started studying craniosacral therapy and to my utter amazement, I'm very good at it. I get a lot of great compliments that blow me away. I get a high from helping people feel better. I use to work in advertising and even the biggest sale of the year didn't make me feel as happy as helping someone feel better.
I wanted to have a baby. After trying for a year, I am now a proud Mama.
I wanted to help new Moms connect and support each other so that they can avoid isolation and the possible post partum that comes with it (I had it, and I don't wish it on anyone!). So I created MomsAndTots.ca.
Despite all this PROOF, I still get down and doubt my self when ever someone doesn't see the value in sponsoring my non-profit organization. I take it so personally, I know I shouldn't but I do, and I think who am I kidding to try to pull this off?
But, thank gosh I am stubborn! I keep plugging away at it because I know that what I'm doing is good and it comes from the heart. I'm hoping the one day, I will look back and think I'm so glad I didn't give up on this project. _________________ www.MomsAndTots.ca |

Get your self a stack of post it notes. Spend an hour writting postitive notes to your self.
" You are a great Mom"
" Your are Talented"
" You are a great person"
This is the fun part - hide them around the house. In drawers, books, linen, the lid of the cookie jar. Boom you are having a bad day, you put away your laundry and - you find one of your notes.......and you smile
I have even had friends visit who know my trick and they will even hide notes. _________________ Coralee Flug

I may try that.
I hear you, Laura! I really hear you.
And I also married my best friend after convincing him that I was the best thing since sliced bread for him.
I have a friend with a similar story about wanting to work at the Sutton Place hotel in Toronto. She just walked in, found the manager and said, "I want to work here." He said, "Well, we're not hiring." "But I WANT to work here. Don't you want people who want to work here?" She was persistent, he was charmed (she's also very charming) and he hired her. Then, she did as much as she wanted to do in her job and was going to quit. They didn't want her to go! They offered her any position to just stay. She said, "Fine. I want to be concierge." Boom. Done. She's met a bunch of famous people and even filled in as the limo driver when Tom Selleck needed to be picked up from the airport. _________________ Warmly,

How cool is that! Your friend is on to some thing! Good for her for going after her dreams!
I will have to try the post it note thing as well.
A while ago I got a little tin can. I would write down my brilliant life insights and positive affirmations and store it them in there. But after a while I kind of forgot about it. _________________ www.MomsAndTots.ca |

Hi Laura,
Can't wait to meet you this Friday! I hope it will be well received. It's been in our newsletter, on our website and posted online.
See you about 6:45!
We all feel the way you do sometimes - this week was my week but it's looking up! _________________ Lisa J. Sierra
